MAC Saint Germain is one of the most popular MAC shades. It is a beautiful pale pink with cool, blue undertones and satin finish. It applies very smoothly and it is extremely pigmented. One thing I noticed with this lipstick, as well as with other MAC lipsticks is that you need to make sure that your lips are not chapped, because if they are, the lipstick just won’t look as good as it should. What I do, is I use a piece of Shea Butter as a lip balm and put it on my lips, and then apply the lipstick. I am all about using natural products, but if you don’t want to use Shea Butter, you can of course just use a regular lip balm.
So, since I am talking about applying a lip balm, you have probably guessed it….. this lipstick is drying. But for the color payoff and longevity, this flaw can be forgiven. This is a permanent Mac shade, so it comes in the regular black MAC packaging. It lasts for about 5-7 hours and transfers quite well, so if you eat or drink, you definitely need to reapply. It smells just divine, just like the rest of company’s lipsticks. The scent if vanilla and reminds me of ice cream or a creme brûlée.
