MAC Pink Pigeon lipstick is a beautiful saturated pink with strong, cool, blue undertones. This lipstick is definitely on the same level as MAC Candy Yum Yum, except for it is a little less bright. Pink Pigeon is a perfect hot pink and it is one of those hot pinks that look absolutely gorgeous on both light and dark skin tones. To pull it off, however, you need to have cool undertones in your skin.
personally, it does not look all that great on me, just because I am very warm-toned and this lipstick looks a little too bright and a little too fake on me.
As for the formula, it is a matte MAC finish lipstick, which means absolutely no sheen or shine. With this one, I did experience some pulling on the lips when applying, but not bad enough to make application an unpleasant experience. However, when dealing with super matte formulas, I always recommend prepping your lips before applying–either with a lip balm or with a lip primer. It makes the lipstick apply better and will prevent your lips from drying too much (which, let’s be honest, matte lipsticks can do). Speaking of drying, I noticed that Pink Pigeon was slightly more drying than the rest of matte MAC’s that I have tried.
It lasts for about 6-8 hours and the transfer is minimal.
