NARS Dolce Vita Review & Swatches

NARS Dolce Vita 2 NARS Dolce Vita1 NARS Dolce Vita is a mauvey-nude. There’s a big difference between how it looks in the tube and how it looks on the lips. In the tube, it looks like a muted mauve color or like a darkened dusty rose color. It also looks matte and when I first picked it up, I thought it was going to be opaque. However, NARS Dolce Vita is sheer with glossy finish. Not glossy enough to replace a lip gloss, but enough to give your lips a very elegant moisture shine. As I already mentioned the coverage is sheer and the color is not buildable. No matter how many times you will apply it, you will not get a better color payoff. On the Sephora website, it it described as “a pure, creamy lipstick formula for bold color”. Well, I can definitely agree with the “creamy” part of the statement, but I did not notice any bold color.

The color lasts for about 4 hours and the glossy finish that you see when first applied disappears within an hour or so, leaving a slight satiny sheen. This lipstick is very hydrating. I did not notice any drying at all. Due to its sheerness and coloration, this lipstick will look good virtually on anyone. It is perfect for creating a “your lips but better” look and that is why this lipstick is on top of my makeup holly grail list.

Overall, I just love it and I will definitely repurchase.
