MAC Honeylove lipstick is a matte finish. You are probably familiar with matte finish lipsticks, but if you are not, matte finish lipsticks are just what they say they are–they are matte. Meaning there is no gloss, no shine and absolutely no sheen. They also tend to be very opaque and MAC Honeylove is not an exception. Opaque formulas tend to be less forgiving than sheer in terms of color choice, so you have to be vey careful when choosing a matte nude lipstick. You don’t want to end up looking like a fool or like you are sick. Good news is MAC Honeylove is a wonderful shade that almost anyone who has cool undertones in their skin can pull off.
I describe this shade as a beautiful mix of medium beige with some cool-toned pink. It is applied evenly with no settling in the lip lines. However, it does tag on the lips a little. Applying some lip primer or your favorite lip balm before using this lipstick can really help eliminating the tagging problem. The color payoff is wonderful as the color is super opaque.
