Best Nude MAC Lipsticks

MAC Nudes

Left to right: Velvet Teddy, Kinda Sexy, Myth and Honeylove

Hello Loves,

Todays I want to talk to you about my favorite nude lipsticks from MAC. Every woman has a nude lipstick in her makeup arsenal and for a good reason– nude lips are great for toned down looks, for no makeup makeup and go great paired with dramatic or smokey eye look.

Here are the four must-have Mac nudes!

MAC Velvet Teddy

MAC “Velvet Teddy” is a matte finish lipstick. It is very opaque and color payoff is wonderful. Despite it being a matte finish, it apllies evenly and smoothly without tagging. One swipe is enough to reach full coverage. Like the rest of matte MAC finishes, this lipstick lasts for about 4-5 hours without the need to reapply and has a minimal transfer. It is neither drying nor hydrating, which is surprising, because matte MAC’s are usually drying, so that’s a plus. It does not really leave a stain and is not hard to remove.

The color is a light to medium brownish nude, with cold undertones. That being said, this color will look gorgeous on women with medium to dark skin, who have cool undertones.

Undertones: brown, cool

Who can pull it off: olive, medium to dark skin tones with cool undertones.

Closest Dupe: 75% match–Rimmel (720) “Notting Hill Nude”($6-$7) or 95% match–Wet n Wild “Bare it All”($2)

Best Matching Lip Liner: MAC in “Whirl”

This one is also a matte finish, therefore the lasting power is about the same: 4-5 hours. Transfer is minimal, and overall I did not notice much difference in the formula between this one and “Velvet Teddy”, except for “Kinda Sexy” being a little bit drying.

Color-wise, this lipstick is a very beautiful peachy nude. It has warm, orange undertones, which makes this color look very good on women with warm undertones to their skin. This nude is perfect for light to medium skin tones. It is great to pair with a smokey eye or for a no makeup makeup look.

Undertones: warm, orange

Who can pull it off: light to medium skin tones with warm undertones

Closest dupe:95% match–NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Stockholm” ($6)

Best matching Lip Liner: MAC in “Shore leave”

MAC Myth

This lipstick is s tin finish. For those who don’t know, satin finish is very similar to matt finish, except for satin finish having a very slight sheen to it, which gives your lips a natural moisturized look. This lipstick lasts for about 3-4 hours and transfers much more than the matte formula. It also does not leave a stain behind  and is quite easy to remove when taking off your makeup. I had no problems applying this lipstick, as it goes on very smoothly, the color payoff is wonderful and there was no settling in the lips lines. It is neither drying, nor hydrating and the smell is just the same as other MAC lipsticks–vanilla with a hint of chocolate.

It is a very pigmented and very light nude with cool, blue undertones. This nude looks wonderful on light and pale skin tones. Having cool undertones in your skin is a must to be able to pull off this lipstick color.

Undertones: cool, blue

Who can pull it off: Pale to light skin tones with cool undertones.

Closest dupe: 95%match–NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Cairo” ($6)  80%match–Nars “Belle du Jour” ($27)

Best matching Lip Liner: MAC in “Stripdown”

This is also a matte finish lipstick, therefore it has all the same formula qualities as the above described ones.

The color is a light pinkish nude with cool, pink undertones. This lipstick will look good on a wide range of skin tones, as long as your skin has cool undertones.

Undertones: cool, pink

Who can pull it off: light, medium, olive and pale skin tones with cool undertones

Closest Dupe: 75% match–L’Oreal “Fairest Nude” ($6-$7)

Best matching lip liner: MAC in “Soar”
