Even though I have done it before, I never really thought that paying $50 for a lipstick was worth it. Mostly, I have payed this much because I either liked the packaging or the designer who made it or both. In case of Tom Ford, everything is different. Don’t get me wrong: I do appreciate the packaging and the designer, but what really drew me to this lipstick was neither. It was the quality of the formula. This is the creamiest lipstick I have ever tried. It glides on smoothly without any dragging on the lips, leaving a smooth matte finish. It is very opaque and one stroke is enough to reach full, even coverage. It lasts a good 5-6 hours and even though it transfers if you eat or drink, it will stay put throughout the day.
For a lipstick that is so well pigmented, matte and long-lasting, it surprisingly does not leave a stain when removed and also is not drying. I would not call it hydrating either, but at least it leaves the lips in the condition they were when the lipstick was first put on. As for the color, it is a pigmented dark blue-based pink with cool undertones.
